The Marée Noire has been granted access into the Shannon Estuary and has been assigned deep water anchorage point B. Once in harbour it will be met by representatives from the Maritime Survey Office (MSO) for full assessment. Additional representative from Iceland P&I and RINA will also be present.

Clare County Council offices have submitted a formal request that the ship, the Marée Noire, should NOT be given access to the confines of the Shannon Estuary. The cargo and onboard fuel bunkers pose a significant risk to the surrounding environment. Shoreline-Impact
